Pelvic Health Physiotherapy
What is pelvic floor physiotherapy?

Pelvic floor physiotherapy is often defined as the practice of training and strengthening a person's pelvic floor muscles, but it is important to remember it isn’t ALWAYS about strengthening— sometimes it’s about relaxing tense muscles or addressing pain. Plus, the pelvis has a lot more to it than just the pelvic floor muscles and a lot of other areas of the body also interact with and affect the pelvis. At Prime Physiotherapy & massage we assess and treat the whole person, not just one body part.

What Conditions Can Be Treated By a Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist?

- Pelvic floor dysfunction
- Prenatal or postnatal conditions/injuries
- Pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence (leakage)
- Diastasis recti abdominis (abdominal separation)
- Endometriosis, hip/back/pelvic pain
- Dyspareunia (painful intercourse), among other conditions.
